The Corporate Philosophy Framework of the Sumitomo Rubber Group—Our Philosophy—defines our Purpose thusly: “Through innovation we will create a future of joy and well-being for all.” And so, while taking full advantage of our advanced proprietary rubber technologies, the Sumitomo Rubber Group is actively engaged in business activities that seek to fulfill our Purpose across our three core lines of business: our Tire Business, our Sports Business and our Industrial Products Business. The Sumitomo Rubber Group has always been a leading pioneer behind the modernization and advancement of the Japanese Rubber Industry, all the while placing particular emphasis on providing real “joy and well-being” to all of our customers all over the world.

Right now, the business environment facing our group and many other corporations around the world is undergoing enormous changes, as businesses are increasingly expected to respond to various social and environmental issues as an integral part of their business activities. Nowhere is this trend more evident than in the rapid shift toward carbon neutrality that is now being undertaken in response to the accelerating impacts of climate change. At the same time, Mobility Society is also undergoing a breathtaking transformation with the rise of CASE and MaaS. Amidst this tumultuous business environment, the Sumitomo Rubber Group will continue working steadily to further the advancement and evolution of tires through our SMART TYRE CONCEPT for the development of tires and peripheral services while also focusing our efforts on new and growing lines of business to respond to the changing needs of society, including the launch of a brand-new line of business based on our proprietary SENSING CORE Technology. In this way, we will contribute to the solution of the various challenges posed by CASE Society through our business activities while also taking sure steps toward living up to Our Philosophy. At the same time, in keeping with the Sumitomo Business Spirit, which has been passed down through generations over some 400 years of Sumitomo History, we will continue to promote and advance various activities to contribute to the realization of sustainable societies for the future.
