This Privacy Policy for California Residents (“Privacy Policy”) supplements the Privacy Policy of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (“Sumitomo Rubber”) and is applicable only to “consumers,” as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 and related regulations (collectively, the “CCPA”), and “personal information,” as defined by the CCPA, of such. If you are not a resident of the State of California and not a “consumer,” this policy is not applicable to you, and other privacy policies shall apply. By visiting our websites (our “Sites”) or providing personal information to us (whether or not via our Sites), you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Sumitomo Rubber will not disclose personal information or consign the management thereof to third parties except to third-party agents and independent contractors that perform the purposes indicated above on our behalf (“Service Providers”). In such circumstances, Sumitomo Rubber will enter a contract that describes such purposes and requires the Service Providers not to use the personal information for any purpose except for performing the obligations under the contract and will exercise the appropriate controls to maintain confidentiality after performing a strict investigation of the Service Providers.
Additionally, Sumitomo Rubber may disclose your personal information to the extent permitted by applicable laws.

RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED, DISCLOSED, OR SOLD UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW

If you are a California resident, under the CCPA, you have the right to request information regarding the personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell. Currently, Sumitomo Rubber does not sell any personal information of consumers.
To make a request regarding the personal information Sumitomo Rubber collects about you, you may use either of the following designated methods: (1) call our number at +1-800-723-2553 or (2) submit a verifiable consumer request by sending an e-mail to the designated address. Upon receipt of a request, Sumitomo Rubber will verify your request, which may involve asking you to provide additional information to us. Such verification may use a third-party verification service or may require you to access and re-authenticate yourself via a password-protected account.

In the past twelve (12) months, we collected the categories of personal information listed in the table above from the sources also listed in the table above.

RIGHT TO REQUEST DELETION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from being compromised by cyber theft and other nefarious activities (for example, by employing firewalls, secure servers, limited users and limited access, and log-in credentials for system access). Nevertheless, no system can ever be made 100% secure from cyber theft activities.
If you are a California resident, you have the right, under the CCPA, to request the deletion of your personal information collected or maintained by Sumitomo Rubber.
To request the deletion of your personal information collected by Sumitomo Rubber, you may use either of the following designated methods: (1) call our number at +1-800-723-2553 or (2) submit a verifiable consumer request using the online request form at the following link. Upon receipt of a request via our number or a fully completed online request form, Sumitomo Rubber will verify your request, which may involve asking you to provide additional information to us. Such verification may use a third-party verification service or may require you to access and re-authenticate yourself via a password-protected account. Either before or after your deletion request is verified, we will ask you to separately confirm that you want your personal information deleted.

NOTICE OF RIGHT TO OPT-OUT OF SALE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW

SHOULD SUMITOMO RUBBER DECIDE TO SELL ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION AND YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA RESIDENT, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OPT OUT OF OUR SALE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
Sumitomo Rubber has not sold any consumer personal information in the past 12 months and will not sell personal information without further notice. Sumitomo Rubber will not sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization.

RIGHT TO NON-DISCRIMINATION UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by Sumitomo Rubber due to the exercise of the privacy rights conferred by the CCPA.

However, we may offer you certain financial incentives as permitted by the CCPA that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels. Participation in a financial incentive program requires your prior opt-in consent, which you may revoke at any time.

DESIGNATION OF AUTHORIZED AGENT UNDER CALIFORNIA LAW

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to designate an authorized agent, as defined in CCPA, to make a request under the CCPA on the consumer’s behalf. In order to make such a designation, the consumer must provide written permission signed by the consumer or an appropriate power of attorney to us directly or via the agent pursuant to CCPA.
