Sumitomo Rubber Industries to Return for a Second Consecutive Year with its SENSING CORE Booth at CES 2025, One of the World’s Largest High-Technology Trade Shows
Dec. 19. 2024
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that the company will exhibit at the CES 2025 with its SENSING CORE booth. Organized by the Consumer Technology Association, CES is one of the world’s largest high-tech trade shows held in Las Vegas, USA, and CES 2025 (Show Days) will take place from Tuesday, January 7 to Friday, January 10, 2025. Sumitomo Rubber Industries will also host a Media Day Power Session for the first time, on Monday, January 6, prior to the show’s public opening.
In our first-ever Media Day Power Session, we will give a presentation on the possibilities of creating a safer mobility society in the future. In the autonomous driving society where vehicles are increasingly software-driven, Sumitomo Rubber’ proprietary SENSING CORE technology enables real-time monitoring of vehicle and road conditions as it senses tire conditions as well as road surface and other environmental information,
which are difficult to fully be captured with cameras, LiDAR, or Radar alone.
At our booth, meanwhile, we will offer a look into collaborative solutions and future outlooks for our partnership with Viaduct Inc. (“Viaduct”), a US-based startup providing AI-powered vehicle failure prediction solutions, in which Sumitomo Rubber announced its investment at CES 2024.
We are committed to achieving high standards of safety and environmental performance to keep up with the growing focus on CASE and MaaS. To this end, we are advancing tire development and related services under our SMART TYRE CONCEPT. At the center of such peripheral services is SENSING CORE, a technology with potential for making a substantial contribution to the evolution and progress of mobility in the coming autonomous driving society. The data gathered by SENSING CORE, including information on road surface conditions and tires, are expected to not only enhance driving performance but also improve the safety of the autonomous driving vehicle.
