FALKEN Wins Overall Victory for Two Consecutive Days in “QF Race,” a Run-Up to “Nürburgring 24h-Race”

The Sumitomo Rubber Group is pleased to announce that our European tire sales subsidiary, FALKEN Tyre Europe GmbH, competed in the Nürburgring QF Race (Official name: ADAC 24H Nürburgring Qualifiers, hereinafter the “QF Race”) held in Germany in April 13 and 14 as Team FALKEN Motorsports, and its Porsche 911 GT3R # 44 won the overall victory in both Race 1 on April 13 and Race 2 on April 14.

Team FALKEN Motorsports competed in the QF Race with two racecars: Porsche 911 GT3R # 33 and # 44. In Race 1 on the first day, both racecars showed excellent performance, with # 44 winning the race and # 33 finishing fifth. In Race 2 on the second day, the racecars kept the momentum of their performance on the previous day: # 44 clinched the overall victory for two consecutive races by shaking off rivals that spurted to catch up with it, while # 33 took the pole position in the preliminary of Race 2.

Prior to this, Team FALKEN Motorsports achieved good results in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (Official name: NÜRBURGRING LANGSTRECKEN SERIE) held on April 6 and 7, gaining the victory in the first race and reaching the podium in third in the second race. The two races of the Nürburgring Endurance Series and this QF Race are positioned as the run-ups to the Nürburgring 24h-Race (official name: ADAC RAVENOL 24-Hour Race), which will be held from May 30 to June 2. In these important races leading up to the 24h-Race, the team had three wins out of the four races and made it to the podium in every race.
