DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 060” Selected as Factory Standard Tires for the All-New “LEXUS RZ” – the Very First LEXUS Dedicated BEV

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have begun supplying our high-performance DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 060” tires to LEXUS for use as factory standard tires on their all-new “LEXUS RZ,” which went on sale this March as the very first dedicated BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) model to be released under the LEXUS marque.
As befits the very first dedicated BEV model from LEXUS, the all-new “LEXUS RZ” represents a major turning point as LEXUS begins its transformation into a brand that is oriented around BEV, harnessing advanced electrification technology to bring forth BEV that embody both the design sensibilities and the drive performance that one would expect from LEXUS.
Our DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 060” tires accentuate the superb riding comfort and steering stability of the “LEXUS RZ” thanks to the development of a new optimized tread pattern. At the same time, these tires also feature lug grooves that have been optimized to reduce noise levels for the kind of quiet ride that you would expect from a BEV. In addition to a stylish design, the sidewall profile also minimizes protrusions and indentations for improved all-around aerodynamics. Not only that, but DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 060” tires also combine low rolling resistance with outstanding performance on wet road surfaces, thereby directly supporting the all-new value that the “LEXUS RZ” brings when it comes to contributing to the realization of a sustainable mobility society, the top-notch driving performance that one would expect from a LEXUS BEV and more.
