DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 050” Selected as Factory Standard Tires for the New Lexus LS

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have begun supplying our high-performance DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 050” tires to LEXUS for use as factory standard tires on their new and improved LS model for the Japanese domestic market.
As the flagship model that has long served as the backbone of the LEXUS brand, the LS is a vehicle that continually refines the quiet and comfortable riding experience at the heart of LEXUS, not to mention the incomparable driving sensation known as “Lexus Driving Signature.”
While still featuring 19-inch tires as its factory standard, the new and improved LS shifts away from run-flat tires and instead opts for normal tires in order to achieve an even quieter and more comfortable overall ride.
Taking full advantage of the advanced technical capabilities that we have amassed through years of developing tires for the LS, we have optimized the sidewall rubber used in our latest DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX 050” and added an optimal layout of sipes to the tread pattern in order to modulate tire rigidity, thereby softening shocks from the road. Thus, our tires contribute to greater quiet and comfort for a more refined overall riding experience.
