Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.  is pleased to announce that we have begun supplying our high-performance DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST” run-flat tires to Nissan Motor Corporation for use as factory standard tires on their 2022 Model “NISSAN GT-R” and “NISSAN GT-R NISMO,” both of which went on sale this October.

Our DUNLOP “SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST” was specifically designed as tires to maximize the performance of super sportscars such as the “NISSAN GT-R.” Incorporating cutting-edge run-flat tire technology*1 while also boasting outstanding sporty handling performance, these tires have been equipped as factory standard tires on each iteration of the “NISSAN GT-R” since the 2011 Model, and so have played an important supporting role in the ongoing evolution of the GT-R Series. For the new GT-R models, our latest “SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST” tires feature our brand-new “Nano Black*2” design, which not only heightens the impact of the DUNLOP logo, but also serves to reduce air resistance.

Embodying NISSAN’s unwavering desire to “make good things better,” the 2022 Model “NISSAN GT-R” represents the culmination of NISSAN’s tireless pursuit of this ideal. 2022 Model “NISSAN GT-R NISMO Special edition”

 

*1. Run-flat tires are defined as tires that can continue running at a designated speed for a certain distance* when completely flat (i.e. when internal air pressure is zero). These tires not only contribute to improved safety, but also save resources and reduce overall vehicle weight by eliminating the need for spare tires.
