■Sumitomo Rubber Industries Display Booth Details |
This year's booth will introduce our proprietary "Sensing Core," "Active Tread," "Performance Sustaining Technology," "Airless Tires" and "Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)," the five key technical development trends that form the heart of our "SMART TYRE CONCEPT." First unveiled at last year's "45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017," "SMART TYRE CONCEPT" is a new technological development concept that aims to achieve a whole new level of performance to meet the demands of the mobility society of the future.

■Highlights |
For our exhibitor seminar, we will provide a presentation on our proprietary "Sensing Core," a groundbreaking new sensing technology that turns tires themselves into sensors.
Our "Sensing Core" technology detects road conditions such as slipperiness as well as the wear status, load and air pressure conditions of the tire itself. By feeding this information back to the vehicle, this technology is able to detect and avoid potential hazards arising from road or tire conditions. Anticipated future applications of this technology include estimating tire damage or utilizing big data to compile and analyze information on driving conditions for sharing among vehicles. |
